Runs in your browser — your photo is never uploaded.
Some older Indian mission documents still show the old 51 × 51 mm (2 × 2 inch) print spec. The ICAO upload rules apply from 1 September 2025, and the upload became mandatory from 1 December 2025 (Embassy of India, Doha).
Photo rules
- Colour photo of the head and top of the shoulders, taken from about 1.5 m.
- No glasses; eyes open, mouth closed, natural expression.
- Even light — no shadows or red-eye.
- No software editing.
- Head covering only for religious reasons, with the edges of the face visible.
- Wear dark clothing (BLS recommends it against the white background).
How to submit it
Upload the photo when you fill in the application on the Global Passport Seva portal, then attend your BLS appointment. BLS centres in the UAE can also take the photo for a fee.
